x 2748 BY from H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} C. EH. [Struck through] C. ER. [Struck through] EH/LCS.11.19. x2748 PISTONS FOR 40/50 CHASSIS. We have noticed the locking screws for the gudgeon pin, when they are screwed in so that they are tight on the taper, the threaded portion protrudes through the other side of the gudgeon pin .150" and .200" in some cases. The hole in some of the pistons is not drilled sufficiently deep to take this length of screw beyond the pin. We have had cases where, instead of the locking screw being screwed up tight in the taper, the end of the screw has been bottoming on to the piston. If the screw is not tightened properly there are possibilities of it breaking off. We have had one such failure which appeared to be entirely due to the pin not being fitted properly. We should like you to take this matter up with the Works. EH. R.R. 235 A.{Mr Adams} (100 Y. BRS. 16-1-19) C. 2584. | ||
