The new pipe came to hand but in attempting to fit it it was found very difficult to get in owing to the body requiring it to be tilted at an angle. It suggests that the patch on the top of the tank be moved further to the rear and the angle inclined more so that it can be removed with the largest body likely to be fitted. It also suggests that the hole through which the cover over the filter has to pass had more clearance so as to permit of the angle being greater. Regarding the petrol gauge, I agree that the ring screwing down the glass should be lighter. I also think that the numbering and the direction of rotation should be clockwise and the "full" position of the needle should be vertical at the top namely 12 o'clock for the 14 galls. "Half full" would then be approx. down where it is difficult to see. I found the gauge a great convenience and very sensetive, and I think when nicely finished will be a distinct move.
