X.295 - RE SMITH DYNAMO.

23 Oct

With reference to Mr. Elliott's note E1/G14.10.19, we assume that it would be worth while to continue experimenting with Smith dynamos having gone as far as we have in this matter.

At the present moment we have just heard from Messrs. Smith that the new dynamo for our inspection and test will be ready in a week's time. We have, of course, given Messrs. Smith no undertaking to do anything more than experiment with dynamos they submit to us, but we have given them a certain amount of encouragement as it was agreed that the performance of this machine was superior to that of the Lucas.

We assume that you would prefer a Lucas dynamo to be fitted to the chassis for the 10,000 mile test. Would you kindly confirm this.
