S.S. STARTER MOTOR PINION.

The splines which take the drive from motor armature to pinion appear to be either too short, or to be produced too inaccurately for a satisfactory job.

We have noted that side play rapidly develops which interferes with the meshing of the teeth.

We are handing you an example of these splines in the form of bur "dummy" pinion (used for brake tests) together with the pinion from the Bosch motor for comparison of the type of spline used in that case.

Is it possible to have some improvement in this S.S. piece ?

EFC.
