Thanks for your memo. You have taken quite a load off our minds. Your first memo did not mention the word lagging, and we therefore assumed you were referring to the clip or lug which is used to fasten the exhaust system to the triangular stay on the crankcase. This is at the back of the downtake pipe looking from the side of the car when you open the bonnet.

It is very difficult for us to visualize exactly what you are referring to in an ordinary memo, and if you would send us a sketch it would help considerably.

On production cars we have made a modification to prevent the lagging clip from coming off, but you must appreciate that any mod. is always a long time getting on to production because existing stock has to be used up and that means usually about 2 series or approximately 400 cars.
