9th. January, 1940.

Wellworthy Piston Rings Ltd.,
Lymington,
Hants.

For the attention of Mr. Howlett.

Dear Sir,

The writer is instructed by Mr. Robotham, to obtain from you the following information, in line with your recent conversation concerning AC.9 bearings.

(1) Could you supply finished big-ends, to go straight into our rods without further attention ?

(2) If not, how much work would we be left to complete the bearing as a runnable job in an engine ?

Data regarding our clearances etc. is already in your possession.

Yours faithfully,
for ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
