As I informed you verbally on the occasion of my last visit to the Works, this car is being prepared for duty in Germany as a demonstration car. In order that it may be of service in this respect it is essential that it should be up to our very highest standard, particularly in regard to two points. 1. Comfort of suspension. 2. Ease and delicacy of operation. In connection with the first of these, it has been arranged that balloon tyres and shock absorbers fore and aft shall be fitted, but it is particularly desired that when these have been fitted necessary tests shall be made to determine that with this combination the present springs are the very best that can be found and that all adjustments are the most suitable. Will you please pay very particular care to this matter. As regards the second item, it has been arranged that a spring loaded cross steering tube should be fitted and after this is done the same care should be exercised in seeing that the whole of the steering is the very best which we can produce, bearing in mind, of course, that this car still has one of the old type front axles which it is not proposed to change.
