Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.9/KW. 27th February, 1936. Messrs. Borg & Beck Ltd., Tachbrook Road, Leamington Spa. For the attention of Mr. Barker. Dear Sirs, We are now in receipt of the 11A6 and 10A3 clutches which you have been modifying for us, but are disappointed to find that you have changed the thrust springs in the latter assembly from red ones to brown ones. We did not want you to do this as we require the clutch for special tests at high torque. We are accordingly returning the clutch to you for the refitting of red springs. We are also sending to you - (a) One 10" driven plate, which please reline with standard woven material. (b) One 11A3 cover assembly (our ref. No.24) which please modify to have improved type balancing, S.82 eyebolts and green thrust springs. (c) One set of RAD-11 facings for a 10" driven plate. Will you please build up a plate with these facings. An official order for the above items will follow in due course. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
