Dear Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer},

Very many thanks for your note of the 24th July. I am sorry that you appear to have had further trouble with regard to Bentley exhaust valves.

I understand that the works are closed this week, but if you like to indicate a suitable time I shall be very pleased to come up and see you, because I would also like to see the valve in question.

When you write me next could you tell me how long this valve had run, and whether it was of the K.E.965 variety?

You probably have more information than I do, but it is our experience that Firth-Derihon seem to produce the best 965 valve stampings. Of course, this may not be the trouble at all, and I will reserve my opinions until I see the valve.

With kind regards,

Yours sincerely,

FRB/BB
