Martindale}1/JH.Exptl. Dept. 20th May 1936. Messrs Rolls Royce Ltd. DERBY. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Martindale. re: Oil Level Gauge for E.R.Hall's Bentley. previous* In reply to your letter of yesterdays date and further to our telephone conversation this morning, we confirm that in view of our telephone conversation and our covering letter of the 9th inst, we have not proceeded with the three-wire type tank unit, also it would take some time to produce this, as fresh patterns and castings would be required. We confirm our subsequent arrangement that we should send you the following:- 1) Single wire type Sump Unit with long float arm. 2) Standard metal float. 3) Large cork float. 4) Single wire 52 m/m Meter with blank dial. We also confirm that it is not possible to use the 82 m/m Meter with the single wire type sump unit. We understand that you will experiment with the object of using the larger float, and in connection with this, we confirm that the angular movement of the float arm must be 70°. If we can be of any further assistance in this matter, will you please advise us by return. Yours faithfully, for S. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LIMITED. A.P. Rowell ELECTRICAL ENGINEER. To avoid delay all envelopes should be addressed to the firm. | ||
