1204 Experimental Department 2nd. December 1936. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}21/AP. The Standard Garage Co., Alfreton Road, DERBY Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 30th ult., and regret to say we are not in a position to fit valve seat inserts in this head for you. We have no experience of running valves direct on the aluminium alloy seats, we use a bronze or N.M.C. seat screwed into the head. We send you herewith a drawing of one of these seats shewing the interference fits neutralised. For fuel containing T.E.L., we consider N.M.C. is the more satisfactory material. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
