Grain structure to be held within a range of 6 to 8, preferably 4 to 5 McQuaid scale. Brinell. Normalised condition 220 for machine. 450 core, 850 surface hardness. AAAH. Ford Standard. Carbon .35-.38, Mn. .65-.80, Cr.{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester} .90-1.10 Normalise 1650-1750 F.{Mr Friese} slow cool to get 220 brinell. Cyanide 45 mins at 820°C. Strain draw in oil 205°C don't exceed. | ||
