CHASSIS - FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER & FRONT AXLE.
-------------------------------------------

Referring to the LeC. drawing showing the fixing for the front shock absorber ball on the front axle as a cone with a cone seating for the nut, please note that we should add the necessary material to the forging drawing for our standard axle at once and instruct the O.O. to ask Messrs. Vickers to alter this as early as they possibly can and then to deliver all future forgings with the bosses added.

The reason for the above policy is, that the scheme is one that we feel sure, after discussing the question with the Experimental Department, will prove satisfactory and which Mr Royce will insist upon having. Until such time as the scheme is adopted in its entirety we shall mill off the bosses in order to produce the present axle.
