W/F - Sr. X4013 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/KW.18.6.34. Thank you for Sr.5/Crn.14.6.34 and Sr.36/MLG.12.6.34. I am so glad that you are at last getting some business. I do not know where you got the large fan from for the Bentley because we have never recommended one and should not expect it to make any difference at high speeds. I have explained the fact that the wind pressure on the shutters causes your temperature to rise to 90° on the straight even in Winter, but it should not rise higher than this. I do not know when I shall get over to France again but hope to see you before long. With regard to 79-RY, which you say only does 84 m.p.h. it appears that you will have to look into the ordinary features of the Phantom such as that the carburetter setting is correct, that the air silencer is not obstructed, that the ignition timing is O.K., petrol supply satisfactory, filter not choked, etc. It would certainly be interesting for you to try these Continental cars out side by side and see whether there is any difference between them.
