CLUTCH PEDAL STOP.
WRAITH ( AND OTHERS).

In order to prevent the clutch pedal from stopping on the crankcase stop and conveying engine fidget to the foot, a stop consisting of rubber washers, (see sketch) threaded on the pedal stem has been tried with satisfactory results, and is inconspicuous, does not require a hole in the carpet, easily adjustable and cheap.

We have made the washers from rubber tube .480 bore x 1.250 outside dia., durometer 55 (40 was first tried but found rather too soft).

We recommend making the first or top washer of a depth to stop the pedal .250 from the crankcase stop when un-compressed, and this should have vulcanized to it a plain .500 S/M washer, preferably plated to prevent rust. The other washers to allow for pedal adjustment would be .675 each deep, to allow .050 for compression.

This scheme is equally suitable for P.III and Bentley as all have .500 dia. pedal stems.
