BENTLEY III.

Summary of points requiring attention. Ref. HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/RH.{R. Hollingworth}1/VS.{J. Vickers}26.2.38.

Pedal Section.

Item.

"Suggest FB.3390/1 Washers called for on FOD.259 be deleted, and the collar increased in size."

This appears O.K. and would delete two special washers.

20
"The Brake and Clutch pedal holders are machined to .493 at end, we recommend deletion of this operation".

This is O.K. The .500 bright S/N bar is readily obtainable with a -3 limit, which is satisfactory for brazing into the pedal plate.

21
Suggests that the pedal holders be made in S/M instead of S/N.

We do not agree, about 1924 this was tried and a a number of pedal holders were bent in service and had to be replaced by S/N on account of the higher resistance to bending.

22
It is found necessary to remove pedals in order to remove gearbox unit.

This is being investigated, (we understand it is the lever carrying theservo spring on the clutch pedal which fouls the rear end of the clutch casing.

Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
