Dear Sirs,
For the attention of Mr. West.
Following our conversation over the telephone regarding springs for Contact Arms, we beg to say that we have received three samples of steel from Messrs. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Gillott & Sons, and are preparing springs as quickly as possible. We hope to submit three levers with springs of each of the three thicknesses for your approval by Tuesday next, and on receipt of your advice as to which you find the most suitable, we will proceed with their manufacture in quantity, and are endeavouring to get Messrs. Gillott & Sons to undertake the hardening and tempering of these springs.
They have informed us that owing to pressure of work, they are unable to undertake the preliminary experimental work and the manufacture of the springs.
Yours faithfully,
NORTH & SONS LIMITED.
