To R.{Sir Henry Royce} From Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} For. c. to K.{Mr Kilner} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Ba. Hdy.{William Hardy} Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}7/WJ.19.12.32. X44Y. x7080. We send you herewith a photograph of the vertical silencer fitted to the R.R. semi-expanding carburetter. It will be noticed that the air intake is as high as on the other type. We consider that this silencer is now as efficient as any of the others in every respect. The photograph indicates the dimensions (which are as specified in H7/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/BE.28.11.32) although of course the appearance could be greatly improved by a design. An air cleaner is included, which was not shewn in the photograph of the horizontal one. It will be observed that the sparking plugs on nos. 4 and 5 cylinders are not accessible without the removal of this air intake. Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
