BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} From Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /AJL. X4124 Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /AJL.2/MJ.4.6.30. DUNLOP SUPER DOUBLE LIFT JACK NO:10. With reference to the new Jack we are endeavouring to standardise for both chassis. The Standardisation Sheet has been signed by R. {Sir Henry Royce} , Da. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} , and E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} , but the latter makes the remark that - "The jack has a very short bearing for the over-hung bevel pinion, which bearing looks as if it would soon wear. We suggest bearing 50% longer". This remark does not refer to the new jack, but to it's predecessor which E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} saw when in Derby. It applies in each case however, as the bearing is the same length. Considerable wear has taken place in this bearing on the new jack. Will you please get into communication with Messrs. Dunlops' with a view to getting the makers to improve the jack in this respect. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rn. {Mr Robinson} | ||
