ORIGINAL To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/nst. c. Eg. WOT. S.R. Dr. Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/nst.1/AD4.2.32. X6058 IGNITION COIL CORES. With reference to P2/M24.1.32, we are arranging to obtain some Stalloy iron strips similar to that used by Messrs. Lucas and Trico Remy, for making up some experimental cores in order to arrive at some data respecting this method of building up the iron core in our ignition coils. With regard to the last paragraph of your note in which you suggest a winding with short circuit similar to a magneto armature, The Bosch Co. and also M.L. made coils of this type simply utilising one of their standard existing types of magneto armatures mounted suitably in a case. They have now discontinued this type of coil in favour of the more universal type like Reico Remy etc. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/nst. | ||
