Attention of Mr. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hives. Dear Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} In a note from you a short time ago you asked what was being done with the "H" engines recently supplied to the American Navy. I have taken the matter up with Bertran at Brewsters, and he replies as under: "Two of the "H" engines brought from England are being installed in a PB-1, this is a Patrol Type Flying Boat built by the Boeing Company quite sometime ago, and has two engines in a tandem installation in a single nacelle above the hull and below the upper wing." "The third engine is believed to be used in tests on the bench to determine the characteristics in connection with American fuel." This is all we are able to tell you about these. How are things progressing with you? We find everything very quiet over here just now. Kindest regards. Yours truly, (Signature of Robert B. Burton) Robert B. Burton M.B.
