Robotham, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., D E R B Y. Dear Mr. Robotham, I am very disappointed to learn from yours of the 27th March, Ref. RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}17/ML., that the trip recorder on one of the experimental car speedometers has failed and would appreciate your kindly addressing this instrument to me personally, so that I can arrange for an investigation. Meanwhile, as you know from your own records, since the bother experienced by Messrs. A.T. about two years ago due to the use of incorrect metal, when the necessary adjustment was made, their instruments have been entirely satisfactory. However, on receipt of the defective Speedometer I will report to you our findings. Many thanks for the electric clock performance data which, excepting in the case of the three last mentioned items, reads reasonably satisfactorily. In regard to the three which have a minus error in excess of a minute per day, I note you are returning these - will you please address them to me personally. If you require a closer timekeeping reading I am afraid it will be necessary to improve the specification and I would like to discuss this matter with you in the near future, if I may. Sincerely yours, Charles D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Mauch | ||
