X4554 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. EFC. EY1-P23.3.21. X.4165 - "R" SERIES - MATERIAL. X.2778c. X4554 X.4172. X.3660. Referring to the material which is held up on various sections in view of possible improvement in design for "R" series, tabulated in my memo EY10-H11221, we do not appear to have received any reply on this question. The point I am most interested at the moment is, in regard to the dynamo and wiring. There does not appear to be any probability of Mr. Royce's switchbox and junction box being adopted on "R" series, and therefore it appears to me that we should go ahead with the standard wiring scheme, Lucas dynamo, switchbox and junction box. Push button switch, main switch and actuator box. Here again it appears to me doubtful when we are likely to adopt the series circuit instead of parallel. Rear engine feet. We shall have to order up steel castings again, in view of the fact that no information is available with reference to the suitability of Mr. Royce's new drop forged scheme. BY.{R.W.
