MOLYNEUX AH (handwritten) ------------------------------- With reference to VA1/25/3/39, we are wondering whether it would be possible to start a fracture in a follower roller (should the roller in any first place be defective in any way) during the fitting operations, inasmuch that should the roller when being applied to the cam be given by any chance too much pre-load towards the end of the cam, which might then cause undue pressure being applied to the cam contact faces of the roller when same is moved to the centre position of the cam. We should mention that when we remove a steering wheel or a pendulum from a Bentley car we always use an extractor this naturally to avoid tapping on the end of the shafts to release a lever or steering wheel. LEVER (handwritten) We have fitted the new steering column and everything appears to be OK. Sr/VA. (Signature) | ||
