Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 7th. inst., and for the four blue-prints of rear axle details on the Rolls Royce Phantom ll and 25hp. models.

Working on the lines suggested by you, we have considered the best methods of fitting the D.W.S.Jacking System to the Rolls Royce cars, and enclose drawings of our suggestions for the Phantom II model, as this is under immediate discussion.

The fitting of the 25hp model will be similar, and a detailed drawing can be sent when we hear that the fitting method is satisfactory for the larger car.

Sheet A.{Mr Adams} shows the spring packing casting, Part No. F.79628, modified to form a rigid location for the jack. You will note the lugs to carry the jacks are simply a continuation of the packing piece, this conforming exactly with the existing part.

The machining of the faces and drilling of the holes will be perfectly straightforward. The lugs are arranged to clear the Hartford shock absorber bracket, which is fitted to the Continental models, and to enable the jack locating nuts to be easily tightened up.

This arrangement would, of course, be ideal from our point of view, but a new casting would be required for Part No. F.79628, and with this in mind, we submit an alternative arrangement
