X.8796 - Watford EO.6 Magnetos.
The remarks in yours EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 3/T16.11.26 were duly communicated to North & Sons and we are this morning in receipt of their reply dated 2nd inst. as follows:-
"We note that your Mr.Clark has not yet been able to "complete the experiments in connection with the "length of cams etc. on the E.O.6 sleeve type magneto.
"With regard to the question of a magneto without "a sleeve, we beg to say that we have carried out some "experiments with a view to increasing the range of "advance without using a sleeve and Mr.Allen brought "with him on his last visit to your Works, a curve show-"ing the output obtained from a standard sized armature "without a sleeve. This result is satisfactory in showing "that the range of advance can be increased and we are "proceeding with further tests with a larger armature "and will report the results of these tests as soon as "possible. The size of armature we are using does not "necessitate an increase in the width of the magneto as "it is not larger than the sleeve used with the EO.6 "magneto."
Wd. {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} JAP.
