RE WATFORD MAGNETOS. X.8796.

X8797 a {Mr Adams} /b

We have to-day received from Mr. Maddocks a Watford EO6 magneto No. 94201 with the following experimental items :-

(1) Ebonite pick-up.
(2) Plain distributor bearing.
(3) Bakelite distributor wheel and bakelite pinion.
(4) Complete armature tunnel for noise reduction.

This has been tried out by Mx. {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} and found to be more quiet than standard, though there is a tendency for the force required to advance and retard the lever to have increased and to be greater than we require.

We are handing Mx. {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} for comparative trial, EO6 magneto No. 89458 with thicker armature cover plate.
This is also we consider less noisy than standard.
