Dear Mr. Bowering,

Thanks for your letter of the 12th, and regret to note your remarks regarding carburetters. I am looking into this matter immediately, although how dirt and swarf can get in is difficult to understand.

We do our utmost to eliminate it from yours and other carburetters by first of all degreasing and then blowing out with compressed air, but even under these conditions we do at times have complaints that swarf gets in, although we find it very difficult to get direct evidence that it is present.

Should you get another carburetter in this condition, I should be greatly obliged if you would return to me exactly as received, to enable me to take up a stronger action in the shop.

Yours sincerely,
