CLUTCH SPRING DRIVE - BENTLEY.

We have found a better setting as regards elimination of rattles by leaving out four (out of 16) of the driving springs. We therefore require driving springs of 3/4 the present rating.

Springs to GB.537 with a calculated rating of 1000 on test appear to be 1270 lbs/in. This is due to the wire being about .006 oversize and the type of end coils not being to drawing.

Will you please make for us three sets (48) of springs of .700 free length, load at .625 to be 71 lbs., wire size about .100 with suitable end coils to give the required rating.

Will you also please send to BY/SS.{S. Smith} details of the springs in the stores at present designated GB.534X, so that these can be given a piece number.
