unless one changes down to a very low gear. It does not seem to slip in nearly so easily as the old clutch.

9. It seemed necessary to have the throttle lever advanced more than usual to prevent the engine stopping in traffic.

10. The engine did not seem to throttle down when the car was standing nearly as well as on the last E.A.C. car which we tried.

11. The over run of the engine was very objectionable.

12. The clutch is objectionably heavy to press out.

13. The accelerator pedal in this type of car is very difficult to manipulate in traffic. One has to sit with one's toe pointing to heaven, which is tiring, and one has very little control over the foot in this position.

14. As in the other car the acceleration seemed good considering the heavy body and five persons. The tenacity of the engine in climbing hills at low speed on top gear was most remarkable.

Altogether it is a very beautiful car, but the above points require attention.

With regard to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/LG15.1.25.

LAMPS. The position of the headlamps being wide apart appeared to be satisfactory. If they could be made a little higher it would be still better.

NUMBER PLATE. I greatly disliked the very heavy tube and its numerous fittings which runs across in front of and below the radiator. It looks like a lorry and wants hiding. For this I should like to see the numberplate fixed to it, just above the hole for the starting handle.

THROTTLE. It is disappointing that the governor lever does not open the throttle wider, as it is very essential that drivers who have for so long changed gear on their governor lever should be able to use this method in future.

PETROL GAUGE. We hope the petrol gauge can be placed somewhere where it will be of use. The principal time one wishes to refer to a petrol gauge is when touring. Practically everyone carries luggage at the back on tour, and then the petrol gauge becomes quite useless.
