Dear Mr. Robotham,

Replying to your letter of the 2nd instant, we are quite aware that the insert locknuts in your design are about 1/2 lb. heavier than your standard nut, but it certainly may be possible after some more test experience to reduce the difference. Some increase in weight is of course inevitable.

As you will readily agree, 1/2 lb. on the hub or locknut is not nearly so serious as 1/2 lb. on the rim, and for this reason I cannot understand why you are not more anxious to try out light alloy rims.
