| The “Metreta” Level Gauge (Registered Trade Mark) ROBT. W. PAUL'S PATENT No. 239912/24 METHOD OF FITTING THE METRETA The METRETA has a dial about three inches in diameter, and a hole must be cut (to the template provided) in the facia board to accommodate it. A bracket fitting can be supplied if preferred. Wherever possible it should be fitted vertically. METRETA “A” will give the depth of petrol only. METRETA “B” will give the depth of both oil and petrol. The copper pipe (1/8" bore) provided is taken from one or both outlets at the top of the instrument and carried by the most convenient route to the petrol tank or oil chamber, to which it must connect so that end of the pipe is at the lowest level of the liquid to be measured. Preferably the copper pipe should be central in the tank or oil chamber, otherwise the readings obtained will not be accurate if the car is not on level ground. The copper pipe can be joined to the instrument by rubber connectors, as nothing but air ever enters the system.
