Bordean House, Petersfield, 12.11.40 Dear Robotham, When I rang you up yesterday, I am afraid I forgot to mention handbooks. These are also an urgent requirement. A copy of your book has been sent officially to Bath for their remarks; in the meantime will you arrange to whack out one copy per Mounting? Not forgetting one for me. I am very sorry that you have had all this trouble over the tool-box and the handbooks which are both entirely admirable in their present form. I cannot get the office-wallahs to see that the main object is to get the gun and its gear to sea in a state fit for immediate use; fancy fittings in the Tool-box don't matter a damn. I have rung up Captain Green, and he is going to try and sort the whole thing out - but while the official wheels are grinding round, will you continue to whack out tool-boxes and handbooks? If anyone fusses, put them on to me. Yours sincerely, (Sgd) R.{Sir Henry Royce} T. Young. | ||
