Y8430 S.C. (crossed out) G.W. (crossed out) C.Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} STEERING WORMS - PHANTOM. It is considered desirable to send through a dozen worms without either oil grooves or oil holes in same. The Experimental Dept. have been running such a worm and say it is absolutely immune from all tendency to stick or tighten up. They think, therefore, that they would like to try a number of worms produced by the Works and run under similar conditions, without oil grooves or oil holes, to see whether the degree of perfection of production at the moment will permit of this course being adopted.
