Huckerby}: Dictated Nov. 8th 1938. Nov. 9th, 1938. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. DERBY. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr.Steadman. We thank you for your letter dated November 5th. The writer has investigated the delay in sending you a thermostat fitted with diaphragm bellows, and finds that the samples we supplied to Vauxhall were built up with our diaphragm assemblies into Harrison frames. The reason for this was that our own frame, designed to take the bellows, is not wide enough to take the diaphragm assembly. The thermostats which we supplied to you were our standard pattern with the seat diameter reduced from 1.1/2" to 1.3/8" to promote better balance. We have an empty Harrison frame here into which we can build one of our diaphragm bellows, in which case it will be identical with the Harrison Stat. Alternatively, we can modify the Harrison frame to give any valve size you may require. As it is some time since we supplied our thermostat to you, we are rather out of touch with your latest ideas, and shall be obliged if you will let | ||
