Prototype 20/25 (GRW series) Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}1/MJ.7.10.31. 19-G4 CAR. COMMENTS ON FAILURES. on 16,000 miles test (2) Failure of Telegauge. The chief cause of this failure was due to the union in the unit of the tank having a seam in the material which opened out. We have reported this fault to the makers. (3) Failure of the Bijur Supply to the Front Axle. The thickness of the felt washer is to be reduced. The metering plug is deleted, the ball end acting as the meter plug. (4) Failure of the Bijur Tank. Cork washer is being deleted and either a steel or Bakerlite washer fitted. (5) Failure of the Lucas Windscreen Wiper. This was the old type, later models are on test. (6) Failure of Bijur Supply Pipes on road springs. The soldering of the joint is to be carefully watched. A good sound joint appears to be satisfactory. (7) Failure of Clutch Slipping. Attention to the oil supply is being made, also attention to the clutch springs is to be tried. (8) Rear Brakes Groaning. Pivoted shoes to be tried. (9) Failure of the Bijur Supply to the rear axle due to the banjos working loose. Attention is being given to this feature, a locking device is to be fitted. (10) Wrongly Designed Connecting Links of Rear Dampers. The design has been altered and made O.K. | ||
