X57836 To Hm {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} /FHA* from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 2/T8.1.27. G 20 HP. EXIDE BATTERY EX CHASSIS GYK.40- ALLINGTON. We have duly examined and tested this battery and are in agreement with your electrician's report that one cell (negative end cell) is slightly faulty. This does not function in the same way as the other five, which are functioning similarly to one another. Possibly there may be some slight initial fault, and we consider that in this case the customer should be given another battery and that the present one should be returned to the Exide Co., asking them to make this cell uniform with the others. We think that on the strength of our report to the effect that this cell is not uniform with the others, they will be prepared to do this free of charge, ourselves paying carriage. There does not appear to be a partial short circuit and we can only think that there is some little initial irregularity in the manufacture. If the Exide Co. would so favour us, we should be interested to know what the actual fault of this cell is. This report is on the assumption that the Exide Co. supplied this battery fully charged in the first instance. EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} | ||
