COMPLAINT. I did not perhaps make it sufficiently clear that all the tyres, including those on the 2 spare wheels on 107-MG, were fitted by the Dunlop Co. themselves, and as the puncture experienced was the only one we had in France, it follows that the tyre and rim with which it occurred had been fitted up by Dunlop's. When in my memo. I stated that the rear tyres had been changed about half way through the Riviera trip, I should have explained that the two rear wheels became the spares and the spare wheels with their new tyres were put on the rear axle. I attach a copy of a memo. I have sent to Wa.{Mr Wallis} at Paris, and you will no doubt inform me or him direct whether you wish the wheel, tyre and rim sent over for examination. I look upon this as essential. I would add that, far from the rims being choc-o-bloc or with 0.1" clearance at the ends, my impression is that the clearance in most cases was from 1/8" to 1/4". Perhaps this is the cause of the trouble. -------------------------- | ||
