Brake Linkage on Back Axle and Rebound Strap. We send herewith N.Sch.4775 which shows the linkage modified to give increased flexibility to provide for movements required by the rear brake equaliser. The rebound strap is modified in shape and position at the bottom end to give more clearance for the ropes. This strap must be fitted to suit each car. A deflecting cap is bolted to the bottom of the strap to fend off the brake rope from the underside of the strap. The brake ropes between the equaliser and the drums have no adjustments and must, therefore, be made up accurately to length. At the first convenient opportunity the equaliser lever forging should be modified as shewn in the upper view to permit the use of a ball joint with fork connection. E/HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
