-6- CHASSIS. MINUTE 12. ROAD WHEELS. Rudge Whitworth. LATEST POSITION AT 4.5.33. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} says "The Rudge Whitworth Road wheels failed on the Bentley car tested in France. We have had the Rudge Whitworth people over to examine the wheels and they have admitted the design to be faulty and are supplying us with a further set of hubs with improvements. These will be fitted to the next car going to France." AERO. MINUTE 13. 6 SPECIAL ENGINES. Rg.{Mr Rowledge} to investigate specification to see whether type test necessary. WHC. states "Programme for delivery now being drawn up." MINUTE 14. P.V. Engine ................... Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}'s D.O. are still working on the drawings for this engine, and we are following the matter up. Merlin ...................... This is still in the hands of Rg{Mr Rowledge}'s Dept., and they are giving it every attention. MINUTE 15. SPECIAL ENGINE. of Kestrel size to develop 750 H.P. at 12,000 feet. This engine (EXP.IV.) has been completed and handed to test. MINUTE 16. GRIFFON. Fully-supercharged. This engine is now ready for test. Modified gear ratio to make engine fully supercharged has now been completed and fitted to a Griffon engine for test. MINUTE 17. GOSHAWK DEVELOPMENT WORK. Position generally. Rg{Mr Rowledge}/Tml. states that programme is being submitted to the A.M. | ||
