FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Copy to - BJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} "SS{S. Smith}" FRAME. X7380 In reply to BY11/G11928., we have sent you N. scheme 2683. shewing you the radiator cross members and suspension, and now we are sending you N. sch. 2697., shewing the front cross member and dumb iron, so that we shall have sent you we think full particulars of the front of the car. The general arrangement - N. scheme 2428. - was made as a general guide to the appearance of the car, and to the possibilities in the way of lowness etc, but as a general rule it is not intended to be used for the production of details unless express instructions are sent to that effect, as the design of the components is very likely to be altered when they are considered in detail. We quite understand that you would naturally overlook the arrangement with a view to seeing what standard parts could be immediately instructed. In this particular case probably the scrapping of the cross member and the diagonal stays is not of any particular importance. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
