PN.{Mr Northey}1/WT.7.7.30. Proposed Reduction of Tool Kits. X.7580. X.5580. With further reference to PN.{Mr Northey}1/WT2.7.30., and Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AJL2/AD4.7.30., in view of the fact that not one in 100 men in charge of their cars would know how to roughen the brake-shoes in order to prevent their squeaking, and also the fact we have found a few spots of turps to be extremely helpful, instead of paraffin, in reducing squeaking, even to the extent in some cases of the effect being permanent, I think we should be justified in not supplying tools for dismantling the front hubs and pivots - as well as for the rear - in which case of course we should not have to consider supplying wheel-drawers.
