Conference on Car Work.

Replying to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}2/R.9.3.35.

(1) Experimental Car 5-B-IV.

(a) Bentley 5 has been completed with regard to the chassis specification. This includes the pieces for centrally mounting the wings and radiator. The wings have now to be built up to the new scheme and this work is being carried out. We anticipate it will be at least a week before it is completed.

(b) Air Cooled Dynamo.

This will not be ready in time to leave with the car.

(c) Supercharging the Bentley.

We are still waiting for the gears from America. We expect to have information from Lr.{Mr Ellor} who returns on Friday as to exactly when we may expect these parts.

(2) Brake Complaints.

(a) Design for Front Axle Control.

These parts have not yet been manufactured. One scheme of front axle control is being sent to France with 5-B-IV where it will be experimented with. At the moment the urgency for axle control is not considered to be of number one importance because the water excluders have proved successful.
