-2- (2) Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} (b) Water Excluders. We have now fitted the new water excluders to Lp{Mr Lappin}'s and En's cars, 3 customers' cars, and 3 other experimental cars. We have had reports from two customers that they are perfectly satisfied, and the other sets are working satisfactorily. We are therefore circulating a Standardisation Sheet for the parts. (c) Other Judders. We are still confident that this trouble can be very much reduced by cutting down the arc of embrace of the shoes, and we hope that design people are going to incorporate this feature in conjunction with the 14" drums. We have, however, confirmed that the four cases of high speed judder reported in the Quarterly Complaint List were misnamed, and that actually no cases of this in customers' hands have been reported. (3) Isolated Change Gear Lever. This has been fitted to En's and Lp{Mr Lappin}'s cars and is fitted on 5-B-IV. We have not produced half a dozen sets to the original design because slight improvements have been made which have been incorporated on 5-B-IV. When this has been tried it is proposed to put half a dozen sets through to the final scheme. So far the scheme is working satisfactorily both on En's and Lp{Mr Lappin}'s cars. (4) Lower Geared Back Axle. This is fitted to 5-B-IV and was also demonstrated to Sales on 1-B-IV at Bignall's corner on the 12th. | ||
