Hancock - Head Chateauroux} 200u also 300a Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.3/AP.17.4.37 We have recently send you a single pressed blade type of Bentley fan and are today despatching a Ph.III. Cadillac type fan with a more effective drive - larger belt and suitable pulleys together with a modified starting handle support bracket to give adequate clearance around belt. Will you please fit these fans to 3.B.1V. and 35-EX. respectively - fit the modified support bracket to the latter (it is mounted off the wheelcase studs) and file off the bosses which are provided on the wheelcase for the present support bracket, so that the fan belt does not foul them. With regard to the water joints between the water pump casing and the delivery bend and the cylinder block on the two Bentley cars - these two joints were instructed to be made in Klingerite material - will you please confirm that this material has been used and that no leaks have occurred either at these points or at any other water joint on the Bentley cars or 35-EX. where jointing material is used. Finally, Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst. is seeking information about the seizure of the Delco-Remy distributor on 6.B.1V. car which we experienced at Paris. Could you ask Pennel to give us any information he can about the state of the shaft when it was removed from the distributor at the Paris Depot, any visible cause of seizure, lack of lubrication etc. - he took it into the Depot for repair and I believe he saw it stripped.
