X1729 This trial was made because Mr. de Salamanca stated that the Cadillac people had made special alterations to their steering which eliminated steering wobbles and allowed them to use low pressure tyres. It will be seen from the attached report that the Cadillac car upon which our tests were carried out, which was a new car, was not by any means immune from steering wobbles. We have also recently heard from Springfield to the effect that high speed steering wobbles were causing them considerable anxiety and that there was no positive cure in U.S.A. which would not spoil the car in other respects.
