To Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} c. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}10/AP.8.11.37. WRAITH STEERING The reduced castor angle obtained by yokes to EX.S.82 enables us to use slightly more sponge in the steering system, as the lighter steering results in less deflection. We find that springs of 1300 lbs/in. rating in the side steering tube give freedom from joggles. The springs we have used are to the following particulars:- 1. Outside dia. 0.930 - 0.005. 2. Free length. 1.990 - 0.005. 3. Wire 6.SWG. (0.194) 4. Working coils. 4. 5. Total coils 6 with ends ground square. Will you please make a drawing for these springs and instruct for the 6 production chassis as well as for experimental use. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev.
