LAUNCHING GEAR SPECIFICATION

POWER UNIT.

Ph.III 12-cylinder engine, max BHP. 212.

CLUTCH.

Single plate friction clutch, & Fluid Couplings to give snatch free start.

REDUCTION GEARS.

We are supplying 3 alternative gear ratios, 2.225, 2.53 and 2.96. Obtainable by change of gear wheels only.

DRUM CABLE.

Alternative drum diameters 10" and 12". Cable speeds and pulls as attached graphs. Drums will take approximately 4,500 ft. of .250 dia. 45 cwt. cable.

PAYING IN GEAR.

automatic paying in gear for laying cable on drum. This is accomplished by a right hand and left hand screw threaded shaft driven by a Reynolds Chain from the Drum cable shaft.

AUTOMATIC CABLE BRAKE.

Elimination of cable tension applies brake at drum, the brake can be dually operated by the handbrake lever in the operator's cabin; also incorporated to the automatic brake is a cable tensioner which drives the speedometer and gives cable speed in m.p.h.

FIXED PAYING IN ROLLERS.

The fixed paying in rollers are so arranged to permit of 200° vertical and 120° horizontal cable range.

GUILLOTINE.

The guillotine is of the shearing type and done by two blades which can be operated and recocked by a lever in the operator's cabin.
