By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Sft.{Mr Swift} c. Sft{Mr Swift}/Set. [Struck through] c. Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} [Struck through] c. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} X5520 Sft{Mr Swift}5/BH.27.7134. 20/25 HP. CONTROLLABLE SHOCK DAMPERS. You will remember that it was reported that the Governor Unit was leaking badly during the Dynamometer Test on the 20/25 HP. unit, and after investigation in the B.I.D, you agreed to the proposal to drill an extra hole so as to divert the direction of the oil. In accordance with your instructions, we built up one unit with this extra hole, and this has been re-tested on the Dynamometer, and Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} reports as follows:- "We have now re-tested on the dynamometer the leaking governor referred to in Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}8/T24.7.34 - It is now quite satisfactory and there is no sign of oil leaking." If you are in agreement, we shall be glad if you will kindly alter the drawings to suit. Sft.{Mr Swift} | ||
