X 607 A.T. RECEIVED 27 IX 1922 EFC EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/CEP2/EC27.9.22. Re. S. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Womersley Esq. We have received from the above customer, 1 - 2 volt Cell ex. his 12 volt Exide Battery. This cell has been dismantled for inspection and it is found that the plates are slightly buckled. Also one wooden separator is broken causing a short circuit and a consequent buckling of the plates. No ebonite separators are fitted. We do not consider the owner should be held responsible for this failure, but suggest that the question of charges for repairs should be held in abeyance until the Chloride Co's., representative has inspected the cell.
